The city between the two seas, protected on the west from Mount Erice is famous worldwide for the saltpans, the tuna fish "mattanza" and its beautiful corals and Aegadian (Levanzo, Favignana and Marettimo). Trapani is well served by a modern airport few kilometers far from the city, where RyanAir flights land every day from Girona, Dublin, Stockholm, Dusseldorf, Birmingham, Frankfurt, Bremen, Pisa, etc.
The "capital" of Sicily is rich of history, traditions and beautiful monuments. Palermo is a city of sea atypical, but very much linked to its huge center, the largest among the UNESCO world heritage site. Punta Raisi Airport (Falcone-Borsellino), which connects Palermo with Italy and the rest of Europe is not far from the beaches of San Vito Lo Capo, Mondello, Zingaro, Scopello, etc.
San Vito, capital of Cous Cous, is perhaps the most popular tourist destination in western Sicily. Its fine beach and reef and its crystal clear sea make it the ideal place to spend a relaxing holiday with good food.
It can be reached in less than an hour from both Palermo and Trapani and it is surrounded by breathtaking views of nature: the tuna nets of the Secco, the Zingaro Reserve, the Gulf of Macari, etc.
